Bibliometric Analysis of Healthcare Failure Mode and Effect Analysis Research

Healthcare Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (HFMEA) has been widely used as a proactive risk assessment for healthcare processes since its development in 2001. This study performs bibliometric analysis of published papers on HFMEA to map utilization evolutionary nuances. The dataset was obtained from the Scopus database English-language between 2002 2022 using “HFMEA” or “Healthcare Analysis” article title, abstract, keywords. Microsoft Excel VOSviewer were perform analysis. authors found 230 relevant publications during period. year 2020 most publications, with 34 papers. Articles written by DeRosier et al. received citations (470). United States had highest number (84), while Kingdom international collaboration. Co-occurrence author keywords showed that patient safety, assessment, management high-rank words. emphasizes scholarly collaboration trends identifies authors, topics, journals research. It may assist health practitioners facility managers understanding focus Nonetheless, is still sparse. Further studies underrepresented medical specialties should be explored.
